Forecasters predicted the first snow in Moscow in the first half of October

The first snow in Moscow may fall in the first ten days of October, the Phobos weather center reported.

“In the second autumn month, cyclonic activity will prevail in the region, and Muscovites will still see values ​​of +17…+19 degrees on the capital’s thermometers, and the first frosts are expected in the second half of the month. There will be much more precipitation than in September, and already in the last days of the first ten days of October, the first snow cannot be ruled out,” the message says.

September broke a 141-year record for the least amount of precipitation. The first month of autumn exceeded the climate norm by more than 3 degrees Celsius. “With this “summer” indicator, the first month of autumn became the warmest in Moscow in the 21st and 20th centuries,” the center clarified.

At the same time, in the entire history of observations, it was in third place – before it, record figures were reached in September 1847 (17 degrees Celsius) and in 1851 (16.3 degrees Celsius). The warmest day in September this year was September 1, when the temperature in the capital reached 26.9 degrees Celsius. The lowest temperature was recorded on September 17, down to 4.6 degrees Celsius.
