Two rockets from the HIMARS multiple launch rocket system were intercepted,” the statement said.
In addition, Russian troops attacked warehouses of missile and artillery weapons and aviation fuel storage facilities near the city of Khmelnytsky and at the Starokonstantinov airfield in the Khmelnytsky region. The communications center was hit at the Mirgorod airfield in the Poltava region, the Ministry of Defense noted. Two ammunition depots were destroyed in the Kherson and Zaporozhye regions, and another in the DPR.
In total, during the day, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation repelled 23 enemy attacks in the Donetsk, Zaporozhye, Kupyansk and Krasnolimansk directions. In particular, in the Krasnoliman direction, the military repelled an attack by the Azov special forces brigade (an organization recognized as terrorist and banned in the Russian Federation). Also on Korabelka Island, the activities of a group of Ukrainian saboteurs were stopped.
On October 15, the Ministry of Defense announced the destruction of the communications center of the radio technical unit of the Armed Forces of Ukraine at the Dnepr airfield in the Dnepropetrovsk region. In total, the Russian Armed Forces repelled 16 attacks in different directions and stopped the actions of two groups of Ukrainian saboteurs. Russian President Vladimir Putin has previously repeatedly called the Ukrainian counteroffensive a failure. According to the Ministry of Defense, since the beginning of the special operation, a total of 250 helicopters, 491 aircraft, more than 12,600 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, almost 8,000 drones and other military equipment of the Ukrainian Armed Forces have been destroyed.
