A school bus with 30 children drove off to the side of the road and overturned on the highway in the Shchelkovo urban district, reported in the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Moscow Region.
The accident occurred at 17 km of Fryanovskoe highway at about 8:20 am. The driver was born in 1953. There were seven adults and 30 children on the bus. According to preliminary information from the department, the bus first drove onto the side of the road and then overturned.
In the regional department of the Investigative Committee (IC) reportedthat a school bus was involved in an accident near the village of Trubno. It contained children and six teachers. An investigation into the accident is underway.
According to preliminary data from the department, the schoolchildren were not injured. The driver and an adult who received abrasions and scratches sought medical attention.
The prosecutor’s office of the Moscow region also organized an investigation into the accident. According to the department, during the trip the driver became ill and lost control, after which the bus rolled into a ditch. “During the supervisory activities, an assessment will be made of the private carrier company’s compliance with the requirements of federal legislation on road safety and passenger transportation, including when organizing the transportation of children by bus,” – it says in a message from the prosecutor’s office.
