Members of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) and its youth organization (KNE) detained the train with American tanks and wrote the slogan “Murderers, go home!” on the carriages. Pentapostagma writes about this, RIA Novosti reports.
The cargo train was heading with military equipment from the port of Alexandroupolis to Bulgaria. Greek activists opposed to any involvement of Athens in America’s military conflicts and Europeblocked the passage, chanting: “Alexandroupolis is a port of nations, not a stronghold of imperialists.”
“We condemn the use of the port, the railway network, the camps in this area NATOexecutioners of peoples who these days are transporting dangerous war materials to the border with Bulgaria by trains and hundreds of trucks,” commented the representative of the Regional Committee of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace KKE Stavros Bazas on the protest.
