The chronicle of Diablos’ duel against Pericos

For the second game in a row, the people from the capital took the lead on the board since their first plate appearance, when Juan Carlos Gamboa sent the plate to make it 1-0 with a single to the right and then a wild pitch from the starter from Puebla (Ruddy Acosta) put the 2-0 scoreline when Japhet Amador was swept to the plate.

The capitalists returned to the attack in their next appearance at bat, making three scores with which they went 5-0 up. With two outs, Ramón Flores negotiated a walk, reaching a single (Jesús Fabela) and a double (Julián Ornelas) to drive in two runs, while Japhet sent the fifth run to the plate with an unstoppable to right.

The locals responded in the bottom of the second with three runs, scoring 5-3. And a round later they repeated the dose to take a 6-5 lead that seemed lethal in the fifth game.

The scarlets returned to the ring after seeing three zeros, thanks to a producer hit by Julián Ornelas to the center, with which the scoreboard was tied at six runs.

Then came the eighth inning, in which Diablos retook control of the game with two scores. The first with homers from Río Ruiz (second in the playoffs) and the second with a hit producer from the giant Japhet Amador, which made them 8-6 in the match.

On offense, Julián Ornelas produced three scores after going 2-5, scoring once, while Japhet Amador pushed two, Rio Ruiz and Juan Carlos Gamboa one each.

In pitching, starter Adrián de Horta pitched for 2.1 innings, in which he allowed five hits, and six runs, with three walks and two chocolates, leaving without a decision. Once he left the game, Leal arrived, who presented a relief of 4.1 innings of only one hit, giving up only one walk and striking out eight rivals, being the winning pitcher. After that, José Bravo went up to the center of the diamond to hang the last two zeros and thus the save was arranged.

Pericos and Diablos will meet again in a diamond on Saturday, starting at 2:00 p.m., at the Alfredo Harp Helú Stadium in a compromise that could put Pericos in the Championship Series or force Diablos to game 7.
