American authorities found it difficult to answer how much it would cost and how long it would take to repair a highway bridge in Baltimore, which was rammed the day before by the container ship Dali.

At the moment, work is underway to assess how to restore the structure, said the Minister of Transport USA Pete Buttigieg in an interview with CBS News.

According to Buttigieg, the path for ships to the port of Baltimore is also yet to be cleared. The port is critical to keeping U.S. supply chains functioning, he added.
