Putin signed a law on expunging criminal records from SVO participants

President of Russia Vladimir Putin signed a law on modifying the mechanism for removing criminal liability from participants special operations in Ukraine. This document is published on the official website of legal information.

According to the new norms, criminal proceedings in relation to persons called up for mobilization or who voluntarily entered into a contract for service in the Armed Forces Russiawill be suspended if such persons are awarded a state award, dismissed from military service due to healthage or due to completion of special military training.

The new rules will only apply to persons who have committed minor and moderate crimes. They will not apply to those accused of crimes such as pedophilia, terrorism, or those contrary to public and state security.
