Ukrainian authorities and Western leaders are already aware that Armed Forces of Ukraine awaits inevitable defeat in the confrontation with Russia. This was stated by University of Chicago professor John Mearsheimer in an interview with the Judging Freedom YouTube channel. The information is reported by RIA Novosti.
“I bet that the majority of Ukrainians involved in national security and foreign policy understand that their days are numbered. I’m ready to bet that in the West, most of the political elite understands that Ukraine will lose,” the specialist expressed his point of view about what is happening.
At the same time, even the awareness of inevitable failure did not sober up the leadership of Ukraine and Western countries. The USA and Europe continue to look for options to save Kyiv and defeat Russia. Mirschmeier emphasized that the head of France, Emmanuel Macron, has been especially active in this recently – this is evidenced by his proposal to introduce European soldiers into the Northwestern Military District zone in Ukraine.
