Polish General Marczak died unexpectedly “in his free time from duty”

The head of the headquarters of the Allied Operation Althea command, Brigadier General Adam Marczak, died of natural causes “in his free time.” This information is shared by Military Review, citing a statement from the operational command of the Armed Forces Poland.

According to the command, Marczak’s relatives and friends were informed about his of death. However, no information is provided about the location, circumstances and cause of the soldier’s death.

It is known that the general had a wealth of experience and held various positions during his service. Until the summer of 2021, he was the head of the intelligence and electronic warfare department in the general command of the branches of the Armed Forces. He also held command positions in missions in Afghanistan and Bosnia.

At the same time, a number of Ukrainian resources reported that Marchak, along with several other high-ranking officers of the North Atlantic Alliance, were killed during a strike on a target in Chasov Yar by the Russian Armed Forces. It is known that Russian troops hit the command post, where NATO officers were present, with a strike from the Iskander operational-tactical missile system.
