Volodin called Washington the main beneficiary of the conflicts

The United States benefits more than other countries from armed conflicts in the world. This position expressed State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin in his Telegram channel.

“Shares of the largest American arms companies soared in price after a sharp escalation in the Palestinian-Israeli conflict. This is evidenced by trading data on the stock exchange. Washington has always used the tragedies of millions of people to further its economic interests. <...> And now American aircraft carriers are heading to the shores of Palestine and Israel with the goal not of ensuring peace, but of starting another war beneficial to the States,” Volodin wrote.

According to him, after the First World War the US economy doubled. This was especially due to the large number of orders that Washington received. At this time, the United States ceased to be a debtor and became a creditor. Subsequently, during World War II, Washington began providing military aid on credit. Volodin recalled that Russia was able to repay the USSR debt only in 2006.

The State Duma speaker emphasized that US policy has not changed over several decades: “We saw this in Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, Syria. We see it today in Ukraine,” added Volodin.

On October 10, Russian President Vladimir Putin called the worsening situation in the Middle East a clear example of the failure of US policy in this region. In his assessment, Washington’s actions did not take into account the “core interests” of the Palestinian people and the creation of a sovereign Palestinian state.

On the morning of October 7, the Palestinian group Hamas began military operations against Israel. The militants attacked the army’s border units and freely entered Israeli populated areas, where they captured an unknown number of hostages, both military and civilian. The Israeli Army (IDF) responded by launching Operation Iron Swords, and the Israeli government announced that the country had entered a state of war.

According to the latest data, more than 2,000 people have died as a result of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict. In particular, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health, more than 900 people were killed, and more than 4,500 were injured. On the Israeli side, more than 1,200 people were killed and over 3,400 more were injured. Among the dead Israeli residents were people with dual citizenship, four of whom were Russians.
