Prices for eggs from producers have decreased over the past two weeks, TASS reports citing Deputy Minister of Agriculture Maxim Titov.
According to him, the decrease was 2.5% for eggs of the first category and 4.2% for eggs of the second category. The Ministry of Agriculture is actively monitoring the situation with prices for socially important products, taking the necessary measures to stabilize egg prices.
General Director of the National Union of Poultry Farmers Sergei Lakhtyukhov noted that after peak demand before the holidays, prices for chicken eggs stabilized and began to decline in the wholesale segment.
He expressed the opinion that this decline will soon be reflected in retail prices. Thus, consumers can expect a moderate decline in egg prices in the near future.
Formerly deputy Arefyev statedthat the price of eggs in Russia should not exceed 85 rubles per dozen.
