Rio de Janeiro police eliminated one of the drug trafficking ringleaders in the City of God area during a special operation. TASS reports this.
We are talking about Carlos Enrique dos Santos, nicknamed Carlinhos Cocaine. According to Brazilian media, a drug trafficker, accompanied by at least three bodyguards, began shooting at police officers while trying to detain him. As a result, the drug mafia leader and two bodyguards were injured and later died in hospital.
The favela “City of God” became famous after the release of the film directed by Fernando Meirellis. Currently, its crime rate remains one of the highest in Rio de Janeiro.
Earlier it was reported that Russian actor Bogdan Kibalyuk was detained with drugs in Moscow on the night of January 12.
The artist, known for his participation in the TV series “Sklifosovsky,” was stopped by law enforcement agencies in the area of Ostapovsky Proezd.
