In 2014, the singer took part in the opening ceremony of the Winter Paralympic Games in Sochi. She performed a composition called “Together”.
In 2017, Samoilova was chosen to represent Russia to travel to Eurovision in Kyiv, but Ukraine banned her entry. The reason was her visit to Crimea after the events of 2014. The following year, the singer was again sent to the competition, where she failed to reach the finals.
Samoilova recalled how Alla Pugacheva helped her. It was not only about financial support, but also emotional support.
“I can always call and ask for advice. And they won’t refuse me. In 2019 I called her for the last time. I asked Alla Borisovna whether I should work with one person or not. She said no way,” the singer noted.
Samoilova has been in a legal relationship with her concert director Alexei Taran since 2015. However, the couple was never able to have children.
