Kyiv authorities renamed the avenue where the Russian Embassy is located in honor of the Air Force

The mayor of Kyiv, Vitaliy Klitschko, announced the renaming of Vozdukhoflotsky Avenue in honor of the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. TASS reports this.

The corresponding decision was made by the Kyiv authorities. The Russian Embassy building is located on this avenue.

“From today there is an avenue of the Ukrainian Air Force in Kyiv,” the news agency quotes Klitschko’s comment.

He added that there are also plans to “de-Russify” some other streets in Kyiv and also rename them in honor of the country’s armed forces.

Earlier it was reported that the authorities of Pervomaisk, located in the Dnepropetrovsk region in Ukraine, refused to rename the city, whose name in Ukrainian sounds like Pershotravensk.
