American entrepreneur Elon Musk published on his account on the social network X (formerly Twitter) a meme with the suffering President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky.

“When five minutes passed and you didn’t ask for a billion dollars in help,” Musk wrote, attaching a photo with a “suffering” man who had Zelensky’s face “attached.”

On October 1, during a speech to members of the EU mission in Kyiv, EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell notedthat in total since last year the EU has allocated 85 billion euros to Ukraine, of which more than 25 billion euros are for military needs.

On August 10, US President Joe Biden sent a request to the US Congress to allocate another $24 billion to help Ukraine. Of the mentioned amount, more than $13 billion is planned to be used for security assistance, and $7.3 billion for economic and humanitarian assistance. 29 Republican congressmen publicly opposed the allocation of additional funding, publicly expressing their position in a letter to Biden.

Russian authorities have repeatedly criticized the supply of Western weapons to the Ukrainian authorities. The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, warned that pumping Ukraine up with weapons is bringing NATO closer to the dangerous point of a direct military clash with Russia.
