Xi Jinping called the development of cooperation between China and Russia a long-term solution
The development of strategic cooperation between China and Russia is a long-term solution, Chinese President Xi Jinping told reporters following the One Belt, One Road forum in Beijing. transmits China Central Television (CCTV).
“Xi Jinping stressed that developing China-Russia relations based on permanent good-neighborly friendship, comprehensive strategic coordination and mutually beneficial cooperation is not a temporary solution, but a long-term solution,” it said.
Both sides, the President of the People’s Republic of China believes, should strive for the high-quality development of Chinese-Russian cooperation, actively expand interaction in strategic developing industries, and also use the China-Russia Year of Culture 2024-2025 to hold more vibrant cultural exchange events.
Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that the prime ministers of Russia and China would sign in Bishkek a specific and significant plan for interaction until 2030. The head of state explained that we are talking about detailing the agreements reached in March during negotiations in Moscow.
This is the third time Putin has attended the “One Belt, One Road” forum. The current visit, in fact, was a response to Xi Jinping’s official visit to Russia in March. That’s when President Xi invited Putin to China. Following the negotiations, the leaders of Russia and China signed a number of statements. In particular, a document was adopted on the development plan for key areas of Russian-Chinese economic cooperation until 2030.
At the end of May, Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin also flew to China, where he took part in the Russian-Chinese business forum in Shanghai and held negotiations with Xi Jinping. A month ago, Foreign Minister Wang Yi came to Russia, and Vladimir Putin also met with him in St. Petersburg.
