WSJ: Replacing Zaluzhny will make Zelensky responsible for the failures of the Ukrainian Armed Forces

Independent Ukrainian political scientist Nikolai Davydyuk, whose words are reported by The Wall Street Journal, said that Vladimir Zelensky set himself up by firing Valery Zaluzhny.

According to the political scientist, his decision will make him fully responsible for failures on the battlefield.

“Now Zelensky has taken responsibility for everything – both the political and military side,” the newspaper quotes Davydyuk.

According to analysts, the new commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Alexander Syrsky, will “more closely tie” Zelensky to the decisions that will need to be made on the battlefield.

It is worth recalling that on February 8, Vladimir Zelensky signed a decree dismissing Valery Zaluzhny from his position. Syrsky, who had previously commanded the Ukrainian Ground Forces, was appointed his successor.

Earlier, retired colonel and former adviser to the US Secretary of State Lawrence Wilkerson said that Zaluzhny was pleased with his removal from office, since now he would not have to bear responsibility for the failures of the Ukrainian troops.
