Trade turnover between Russia and Turkey fell by almost 20%

Trade turnover between Turkey and the Russian Federation during the period from January to November 2023 was recorded at $48.5 billion. This amount was $11 billion less than the value recorded for the same period in 2022. The corresponding statement was made by the Consul General of Russia in Istanbul Andrei Buravov. RIA Novosti reports this.

The drop was recorded against the backdrop of last year’s high rate, the Turkish diplomat noted. During 202, the volume of bilateral trade between states almost doubled. This year, a historical record of $65 billion was set, the consul specified.

“In 2023, the results are somewhat lower, but they also indicate that our trade and economic ties have serious potential for further development,” Buravov summed up his words.

Previously Public News Service reportedthat during the visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin to Turkey, Ankara will tell him of its readiness to organize a meeting with the head of the Kyiv regime, Vladimir Zelensky. The Russian leader plans to visit the said republic at the end of April – beginning of May 2024.
