Three people died as a result of a drone attack in the Belgorod region

Three people, including a child, were killed when debris from a drone fell on the outskirts of Belgorod. About it reported Governor of the Belgorod region Vyacheslav Gladkov in his Telegram channel.

“Three people died, one of them was a small child. Two more people are in critical condition in intensive care. Now all the necessary help is being provided to them. Doctors are doing everything to save their lives,” he said.

According to Gladkov, due to the fall of the drone, two residential buildings were actually destroyed and several residential buildings and cars were damaged as a result of the explosion. The governor also expressed condolences to the relatives of the victims and clarified that on October 12, the schedule for “several events in the city” would be changed in connection with the incident.

On the night of October 12, Gladkov reported that air defense shot down an aircraft-type drone on approach to Belgorod. As a result of falling drone debris, a private residential building caught fire. Initially governor stated about two victims – a woman and a man. The woman suffered a broken leg and a concussion, her condition is assessed as serious. The man is in a coma and has burns to his respiratory tract, arms and legs.

Gladkov later clarified that the bodies of two more people were found under the rubble – also women and men.

The Belgorod region is regularly subjected to shelling from Ukraine. The region has an indefinite high (“yellow”) level of terrorist threat. Since October 19, 2022, by decree of Russian President Vladimir Putin, a medium level of response has been established in the region.
