In St. Petersburg, about 200 pensioners of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MVD) intend to be evicted from service apartments. Fontanka reports this.
Civil servants were given housing in the early 2000s within the framework of the law in force at that time. The employees were promised that the apartments they received would remain theirs in any case in the future, but later the tenants of the service apartments were ordered through the court to leave the living space
As a result, the former police officers were forced to contact the prosecutor’s office and the city Legislative Assembly to bring their complaint to the authorities. At the moment, pensioners want to at least get permission to stay in their previous apartments.
Earlier, the State Duma of the Russian Federation called for reducing the costs of pensioners for housing and communal services. This initiative was put forward by State Duma deputy Yaroslav Nilov. More about this read the material Public News Service.
