The UN Security Council will discuss the situation around the Gaza Strip on October 13

The UN Security Council has scheduled a meeting to discuss the Palestinian issue for October 13. About it reported RIA Novosti with reference to a source in the Security Service.

“The Chairman of the Security Council scheduled a meeting for Friday at 15:00 (22:00 Moscow time),” the agency quotes.

On the morning of October 7, the Palestinian group Hamas began military operations against Israel. The Israel Defense Forces announced the launch of Operation Iron Swords and attacked hundreds of Hamas targets in the Gaza Strip. Israel declared that the country had entered a state of war.

On the Israeli side, more than 1,200 people were killed and over 3,400 more were injured. According to the Palestinian Ministry of Health, more than 900 people were killed, and more than 4,500 were injured.

On October 11 it became known that in Gaza were killed 11 employees of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA). They included five UNRWA school teachers, one gynecologist, one engineer, one psychologist and three support staff. Some of them died in their homes with their families.
