A project has been submitted to the State Duma to increase fines for drivers refusing to stop at the request of the police and violating the rules for transporting goods. RIA Novosti reports about this.
According to the new bill, drivers who refuse to stop when asked by the police face a fine of 7 to 10 thousand rubles. For a repeated violation of this kind, drivers may be deprived of their license for six months. Currently, the fine for refusing to stop ranges from 500 to 800 rubles.
In addition, it is proposed to increase the fine for violating the rules for transporting goods from 500 rubles to 100 thousand rubles.
The bill also contains a proposal to impose fines in the amount of 10 thousand rubles and deprivation of rights for six months for drivers who refuse to undergo weight and dimensional control. A car owner who refuses control may be fined 100 thousand rubles.
