The share of imported salt in Russia increased to almost 34% in 2023

Over the previous year, the share of imported salt in the Russian Federation increased from 31.1% to 33.6%. The relevant information follows from the statement of the Rusprodsoyuz association.

The increase in the share of the product is caused by difficulties in supplying wagons for shipment of Russian goods, as well as an increase in delivery times along railway lines. The association of manufacturers indicated that foreign suppliers who do not have difficulties shipping their own products could take advantage of the current situation.

Deputy Chairman of the Board of Rusprodsoyuz Dmitry Leonov noted that representatives of retail chains quite often put foreign goods on store shelves, rather than domestic salt. This development of events represents another factor influencing the increase in the share of imported products in Russia.

Earlier, Rosselkhoznadzor announced the mandatory inspection of pet food manufacturers from France and Italy for their subsequent import into the Russian Federation. More about this read the material Public News Service.
