The Russian government has lifted the moratorium on inspections of IT companies

Government Russian Federation decided to lift the moratorium on inspections of IT companies. The Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) reports this on its official website.

It is alleged that this decision was made to prevent cartelization in the IT sector. In addition, lifting the moratorium on inspections will help protect the rights of small and medium-sized businesses and avoid abuse by dominant IT companies.

“The exclusion of antimonopoly control from the moratorium on inspections of IT companies will make it possible to effectively combat abuses by dominant digital services and platforms,” the department said in a statement.

Earlier it became known that Raiffeisen Bank International (RBI), an Austrian financial group, may refuse to buy out the share of Russian businessman Oleg Deripaska in the construction company Strabag SE for 1.5 billion euros due to pressure from the United States.
