The Russian government approved November 22 as Psychologist’s Day
Psychologist Day will be celebrated in Russia annually on November 22, the government press service reported. Relevant order signed Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.
The press service of the Cabinet of Ministers clarifies that on this day in 1994, the first founding congress of the Russian Psychological Society, “the largest professional and scientific organization of psychologists in the country,” was held. Now, according to government data, more than 7 million people work in the provision of psychological assistance services to the population.
Previously, one of the participants in the II Congress of Young Scientists and students of the program for developing a personnel management reserve in the field of science and education asked Russian President Vladimir Putin to establish a new holiday, the government recalled.
In March, the head of state instructed The government has until June 30 to develop and submit proposals to establish Psychologist Day. He also instructed to consider, before the above-mentioned deadline, the issue of improving the system of providing psychological assistance and support to the population, including refugees and military personnel.
