The Polish Foreign Minister considered Ukraine’s invitation to NATO “a pretext for war with the Russian Federation”

The head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Poland, Radoslaw Sikorski, spoke about a possible invitation to Ukraine to NATO. He shared his opinion in a conversation with the newspaper Rzeczpospolita.

“The question is complex. <…> If [НАТО] will invite Ukraine and she would receive security guarantees, this would be an invitation to war with Russia”, he admitted.

According to Sikorski, Poland and a number of other European countries “would not be ready for this.”

The minister suggested that the alliance would not prepare an invitation to Ukraine for the summit, which is scheduled for July.

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban admitted that Western states are planning to send military personnel to Ukrainian territory. More details read the material Public News Service.
