The Ministry of Internal Affairs explained how a thief was able to take more than 1 billion rubles from a bank in St. Petersburg

Official representative Ministry of Internal Affairs Irina Volk explained that the thief who stole money and jewelry from a bank vault used a tip and modern technology.

In her Telegram channel, Volk wrote that the owner of one of the cells was the first to report the loss of money, and later another statement was received. According to her, the attacker used the data of other people’s bank cards, with the help of which he opened the cells.

In total, the person involved in the case stole 450 thousand dollars and 30 thousand euros.

Volk noted the following: “No, the criminal did not burst in there with a weapon and did not demand to give him cash. He stole money from a premises that, it would seem, should be as secure as possible.”
