During the night of October 18, Russian air defense systems destroyed 28 drones over the territory of the Kursk and Belgorod regions, as well as over the Black Sea. About it reported in the press service of the Russian Ministry of Defense.
“Duty air defense systems over the territory of the Belgorod, Kursk regions and the Black Sea intercepted and destroyed 28 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles,” the statement said.
Previously, the governor of the Belgorod region Vyacheslav Gladkov reported in his Telegram channel that six drones were destroyed over the region over the past night. He clarified that, according to preliminary information, no one was injured and there was no destruction. The governor of the Kursk region, Roman Starovoyt, and the head of Crimea, Sergei Aksenov, have not yet commented on these reports.
On October 17, Aksenov reported that on the night of October 17, Russian air defense and electronic warfare systems shot down and suppressed eight drones on approach to Crimea. Later Ministry of Defense reported about the destruction of a Ukrainian unmanned boat in the Black Sea.
Since October 19, 2022, by decree of Russian President Vladimir Putin, a medium level of response has been established in Crimea, Belgorod, Kursk regions and some other regions. In addition, in these regions of Russia, the “yellow” (high) level of terrorist threat is in effect indefinitely.
