Russia is ready to evacuate its citizens from the Gaza Strip, there is a possibility for this, said presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov.
Peskov explained that there are more than 1,000 Russians in the Gaza Strip, and the representative office is working with them and finding out whether they want to evacuate. At the same time, he added that not everyone gets in touch with foreign institutions and wants to leave.
“In this case, of course, our diplomats are making every effort to establish these contacts. There is a readiness for this. Putin spoke about this in China. There is an opportunity,” Peskov said.
The Kremlin representative clarified that threats to the security of Russians in the Gaza Strip will increase exponentially after the start of the ground operation by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF). Russia will act according to the situation, but so far it is not changing for the better and very dynamically, Peskov added.
The Kremlin does not have detailed information about the fate of captured Russians in Gaza, but continues contacts with both sides of the conflict.
