The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has set strict conditions for the participation of Russian and Belarusian athletes in the upcoming Olympics in Paris.
According to the IOC press service, any Russian symbols will be prohibited at the games, and Russian and Belarusian teams will not be able to participate in team competitions.
Qualified athletes from Russia and Belarus are required to sign an agreement with the updated Olympic Charter, including a provision honoring the “peaceful mission of the Olympic movement.” They will compete under the acronym AINS, denoting their status as neutral athletes.
The IOC also established a ban on the participation of athletes who actively support military action in Ukraine. The requirements also apply to athletes and coaches who have contracts with the military or national security agencies.
An important aspect is also the ban on any symbols of Russia and Belarus at the official venues and events of the Olympics in Paris.
According to the IOC, no athlete should be prevented from participating in competitions “just because of his passport.”
Earlier, Guberniev laughed at Olympic champion Zagitova, who decided to become a coach. More about this read the material Public News Service.
