The International Blind Sports Federation (IBSA) has suspended the membership of Russia and Belarus for the next two years. About it reported on the IBSA website.

“The IBSA Executive Board confirms that it will respect and support the decision of the IPC (International Paralympic Committee) General Assembly, recently held in Bahrain, to partially suspend the membership of Russia and Belarus for the next two years,” the statement said. .

The IBSA has agreed to support the IPC’s decision to allow neutral Paralympians from Russia and Belarus to compete in Paris 2024 and other competitions under the auspices of the IPC. However, athletes will be required to undergo a neutrality verification process in the form of a protocol agreed upon by the IPC governing committee.

General Assembly of the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) voted for the suspension of the membership of the Russian Paralympic Committee (RPC) in the organization at the end of September with the wording “for violation of the constitutional obligations of membership.”
