The head of the Belgian Foreign Ministry, Aja Labib, called the murder of two Swedish citizens in the center of Brussels a terrorist attack. She’s talking about this wrote on his page on the social network X (formerly Twitter).
“Shocked by the terrorist attack that claimed two lives in the center of Brussels. To combat radicalism it is necessary to use all necessary means. Our thoughts are with the victims, their families and our police officers,” Lyabib said.
The head of the foreign policy department also said that she expressed condolences to her Swedish colleague Tobias Billström.
“Belgium and Sweden are united in the fight against terror,” added Lyabib.
Belgian newspaper Het Laatste Nieuws reportedthat the two Swedes shot dead in Brussels were most likely football fans as Belgium hosts Sweden in a Euro 2024 qualifier. So far unconfirmed information has appeared on social networks that the criminal may be associated with terrorist groups. Belgian Prime Minister Alexander De Croo asked Brussels residents to “be vigilant.”
