The FSB uncovered 42 underground weapons workshops and seized 352 weapons
In two months, the Federal Security Service (FSB) of Russia seized 352 firearms from illegal circulation and stopped the work of 42 underground workshops, reported at the Public Relations Center (PRC) of the department.
“The activities of 42 underground workshops for the modernization of weapons and the production of ammunition have been stopped,” the message says.
Weapons of both domestic and foreign manufacture were seized from illegal circulation, including 42 grenade launchers, six machine guns, 67 machine guns, 12 submachine guns, 105 rifles, carbines and shotguns and 120 pistols and revolvers. In addition, the department discovered 507 grants, shells and various mines, as well as 138,000 rounds of ammunition and 33 kg of explosives.
In total, the FSB, together with the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs and the National Guard, stopped the criminal activities of 119 people in 38 regions; searches were carried out, including in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Crimea, Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics.
In September FSB reported, which identified 217 clandestine arms manufacturers and sellers in 53 regions of the country. During the raids, 757 firearms of domestic and foreign production were seized and the activities of 84 clandestine weapons workshops were suppressed.
