The Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) conducted searches in the Federal Air Transport Agency as part of an investigation into a criminal case regarding the illegal withdrawal of almost 60 aircraft and helicopters from Russian jurisdiction. This information is reported by the newspaper “News” with reference to their sources.

According to the publication, since March 2022, several dozen aircraft have been sold, including sales to unfriendly countries. Of this number, three helicopters, according to a source close to the security forces, took part in hostilities on the side of Ukraine. Il-76 aircraft were also used to deliver cargo with transponders turned off in order to hide their routes.

According to the newspaper, it was these facts that led to the resignation of Alexander Neradko, who headed the Federal Air Transport Agency for 14 years. His resignation took place in September 2023.

According to the publication, the FSB has already opened two criminal cases against several employees of the Federal Air Transport Agency. Cases were opened on facts of negligence and abuse of power.
