A Russian citizen was detained in Sevastopol on suspicion of treason (Article 275 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). About it reports TASS with reference to the press service of the FSB of Russia.
The maximum penalty under the article is life imprisonment. According to the FSB, the detainee wanted to avoid mobilization and left for one of the CIS countries in 2022. After this, he turned to a representative of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine and was recruited.
The agency clarifies that the Russian worked in an organization that was engaged in the construction of fortifications in Crimea. The attacker collected information and passed it on to Ukrainian intelligence, the FSB claims.
The suspect is in custody.
September 27, FSB Directorate for Crimea and Sevastopol reported about the detention of a resident of Krasnodar. A criminal case has been opened against him for preparing for treason. The department clarified that a 22-year-old man tried to enter the territory of the Kherson region through the Crimean city of Armyansk, in order to then leave for Ukraine and join the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He was detained by Russian border guards. The court arrested the man for two months.
