The FSB announced the detention of a resident of Orel in a case of sabotage ordered by the SBU
A resident of Orel was detained in a case of high treason in the interests of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), the press service of the Federal Security Service (FSB) for the region reported.
The department, together with the regional Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the line police department at the Orel station, was searching for suspects in sabotage on transport and communication facilities. “The involvement of a 38-year-old resident of the regional center in illegal acts has been established <...> evidence has been obtained that he committed the indicated actions on instructions from the SBU for monetary rewards,” follows from the department’s message (quote according to RIA Novosti).
A criminal case has been initiated against him under Art. 275 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (high treason). The maximum penalty under this article is life imprisonment. The court sent him into custody. During interrogation, the detainee admitted that he set fire to relay cabinets on June 23 and July 9 and the roof of a communications facility in August in Oryol. He did this on the instructions of the Ukrainian special services, who gave instructions through the messenger. The man repented of his actions.
October 16, FSB press service reportedthat department employees detained a resident of the Trans-Baikal Territory on suspicion of treason. According to the FSB, the woman was collecting information about the movements of Russian military personnel who were supposed to go to the special operation zone, and passed it on to the Ukrainian special services.
