The Foreign Ministry called the attack on a hospital in Gaza an “act of dehumanization”

Russia considers the attack on a hospital in the Gaza Strip a crime and an act of dehumanization. About it stated Russian Foreign Ministry official representative Maria Zakharova on Sputnik radio.

“Of course, we classify such a criminal act as a crime, as an act of dehumanization,” she said.

Zakharova called on Israel to provide evidence of its non-involvement in the attack on a civilian target, and not make “just comments in the media and social networks.” According to the diplomat, the United States should also show satellite images that would help clarify the situation and identify the culprit of the tragedy.

She added that the situation in the Middle East is “directed from Washington and London” and is gaining monstrous momentum. Zakharova pointed to the large number of victims and called what was happening “a humanitarian disaster on a global scale.”

The attack on Al-Ahly hospital in the Gaza Strip took place on October 17. According to various sources, the attack killed between 500 and 800 people. The Palestinian side blamed Israeli forces for the strike. The Israeli Army (IDF) stated that the incident was connected with an unsuccessful rocket launch towards Israel by Islamic Jihad (an organization recognized as terrorist and banned in Russia), also based in Gaza. The launcher was located in close proximity to the hospital, they added.

Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev called the attack on a hospital in the Gaza Strip a war crime for which the United States bears responsibility. First Deputy Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the UN Dmitry Polyansky said that Russia and the UAE requested a meeting of the UN Security Council on October 18 in connection with the incident.
