The cost of uranium imports from Russia to the EU has reached its highest level since 2013

Cost of importing uranium from Russian Federation to countries European Union reached its highest value since 2013 – 1,713 euros per kilogram. The RIA Novosti agency reports this with reference to open data.

It is alleged that Russia mainly supplies the European Union with enriched uranium, the cost of which has been growing over the past three years – in 2021 it was 678 euros per kilogram, and in the past – 1,713 euros per kilogram, an increase of 2.5 times. This value is the highest since 2013, when a kilogram of enriched Russian uranium cost the EU 2,004 euros.

Russia in 2023 ranked third in the number of supplies of enriched uranium to the EU (253 tons, 430 million euros, 19 percent of all supplies to the EU), second only to the Netherlands (263 tons, 311 million euros, 20 percent) and Great Britain (365 tons, 678 million euros, 28 percent).
