The air defense system shot down three aircraft-type unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) in the Belgorod region and the Yakovlevsky urban district of the Belgorod region. About it reported regional governor Vyacheslav Gladkov in his Telegram channel.
According to Gladkov, according to preliminary data, there were no casualties or destruction. Information about the consequences is being clarified by operational services.
The Ministry of Defense clarified that Ukrainian UAVs attempted to attack targets on Russian territory at about 10:30 p.m. They were destroyed by air defense systems on duty.
On October 15, on approach to Belgorod, the Russian air defense system shot down two drones. The attack from Ukraine was stopped at about 14:00. There were no injuries or damage.
The Belgorod region, like other border regions, is regularly attacked by Ukraine. Since October 19, 2022, by decree of Russian President Vladimir Putin, a medium level of response has been established in the region. The region is also at an indefinite “yellow” (high) terrorism alert level.
