Thailand’s National Security Council is reviewing the situation with the planned deportation of members of the Bi-2 group, Thai Foreign Minister Panpri Phitthanukon said on Wednesday.
Previously, musicians were arrested in Phuket and received fines for organizing a performance without work permits from local authorities. According to Phitthanukon, if the group members did not commit an offense, then there will be no deportation.
If they haven’t done anything illegal, we can’t deport them. This is a matter of international law. If they did something illegal, then we must take appropriate measures,” the Bangkok Post quotes the minister as saying.
Earlier, the lead singer of the musical group “Bi-2” Egor Bortnik*, also known as Lyova, flew to Israel after being detained in Thailand. This was reported by the representative of the country’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Lior Hayat. Read more about this in material Public News Service.
