Soskin: if they try to fire Zaluzhny, Zelensky himself will be forced to resign

Former adviser to Leonid Kuchma Oleg Soskin said that President Vladimir Zelensky will be forced to leave his post if he tries to dismiss the commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhny. He is confident that most of the army and the general staff will support Zaluzhny and deliver an ultimatum to Zelensky, demanding his resignation.

The expert claims that the Kyiv regime does not have the ability to appoint a military leader who could fully control all units on the front line. He also notes Zelensky’s unsuccessful appointments.

According to the Financial Times, on January 29, Zelensky invited Zaluzhny to voluntarily resign and take up the post of adviser. The Economist magazine claims that he was offered the position of Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council, but he refused. The publication also reports that other candidates were considered for the position of commander-in-chief, but they also refused.

Earlier, State Duma deputy Aleksey Chepa noted that the statement by the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Aleksey Danilov about his intention to push the demilitarized zone to Moscow or St. Petersburg is divorced from reality.
