Roman Panov was appointed to the position of president of the geological exploration company Geotech. The decision was approved by the Board of Directors (BoD), the press service of Geotek JSC reported.
Panov “has extensive expertise in the management and development of raw materials and geological exploration assets,” the press service said in a statement. And experience in previous positions will allow Geotech to continue “the progressive development of key business areas and ensure the successful implementation of the strategy” until 2028.
Panov himself noted that Geotech is actively working to modernize equipment, develop the technological base, as well as form and plan projects in the medium term, both in the Russian and foreign markets.
At the same time, the company is working to diversify its activities and strengthen its competencies in the production of high-tech equipment for geological exploration. According to the new president of Geotek, this “meets the national priority of increasing the level of technological sovereignty of the country.”
Geotech is included in the list of systemically important organizations. The company is engaged in seismic exploration on land and in the transit zone, providing services to clients in the main oil and gas regions of Russia and Kazakhstan. Geotech makes “a significant contribution to the implementation of the state program for the reproduction of Russia’s mineral resource base in the oil and gas sector,” the company’s press service said in a statement.
In 2019, Panov left Rosgeologiya, which he had led since 2013. Since 2019, he served as First Vice President of Gazprombank.
