Russian scientists have discovered a connection between stress and intestinal microflora

Scientists from IKBFU and the Institute of Physiology of the Russian Academy of Sciences presented a new study demonstrating the influence of the diversity of intestinal microflora on the nervous system of animals. Based on the results of experiments on rats, it was found that animals with a less diverse microbial component have a more excitable nervous system.

Using sequencing of the 16S rRNA gene of microorganisms in the intestines of rats, scientists determined that the presence of stress in less excitable animals increases the number of certain types of bacteria. This observation may have important implications for understanding the relationship between the gut microbial environment and nervous system functioning.

Further research will be aimed at testing the hypothesis about the connection between high excitability of the nervous system and the likelihood of developing mental disorders in humans. TASS Science reported this.

Earlier it became known that brand chef Kuznetsov named three products that can protect against stress. More about this read the material Public News Service.

It was also reportedthat Alexander Myasnikov raised the topic of oncology in his program “About the Most Important Thing,” saying that breast cancer can occur not only in women.
