Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov will visit Beijing from October 16 to 18

The visit of Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov to Beijing is expected from October 16 to 18 during the “One Belt, One Road” forum. reported Russian Foreign Ministry official representative Maria Zakharova at a briefing.

“His negotiations with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi are planned. We will inform you further,” she clarified.

The “One Belt, One Road” forum in China is also expected to be attended by Russian President Vladimir Putin. The Russian leader was invited by Chinese President Xi Jinping during his visit to Russia in March. Putin later announced that he accepted the invitation. In September, Russian Presidential Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov clarifiedthat the timing of Putin’s visit to China has been agreed upon, but did not disclose details.

At the briefing, Zakharova also said that Lavrov’s visit to Pyongyang is being worked out, during which issues of bilateral relations and issues on the Korean Peninsula will be discussed.
