RBC: Most banks in Armenia will stop accepting Mir cards from March 30

Since March 30, most banks in Armenia will stop accepting cards Russian payment system “Mir”. The only exception will be VTB Armenia Bank, as a representative of the financial organization said, RBC reports.

A representative of RBC clarified that from March 30 of this year, Mir cards will no longer be valid in ATMs and payment terminals of most banks in Armenia, with the exception of VTB Armenia Bank. This information was also confirmed by a publication source on the Russian market.

It is worth noting that USA introduced sanctions against the Mir system at the end of February. Due to forced restrictions, Freedom Finance Bank from Kazakhstan also stopped operations with the Russian payment system.
