Putin: Ukraine’s losses during the counteroffensive are eight times higher than Russia’s

Before this, Putin had repeatedly spoken about the lack of success in the offensive actions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. According to him, the counteroffensive does not bring the expected results to Kyiv, and at the same time, the enemy is suffering heavy losses. During a meeting of the Valdai Forum, Putin said that since the start of the counter-offensive, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have lost more than 90,000 people. In addition, 557 tanks and almost 1,900 armored vehicles of various classes of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were destroyed, he added.

As of October 15, since the beginning of the special operation, the Russian army has hit 488 aircraft, 250 helicopters, 12,640 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, over 7,800 drones and other enemy military equipment.

The last time data on losses of the Russian army since the beginning of the special operation of the Ministry of Defense led in September 2022. At that time they amounted to 5937 people. At the same time, the Armed Forces of Ukraine lost 61,207 military personnel, Shoigu said.

In June 2023, for the first time since the fall of 2022, the minister mentioned the losses of the Armed Forces during the special operation. According to him words, while repelling the enemy offensive in early June, 71 Russian servicemen were killed in three days, and another 210 were injured. At the same time, the losses of the Ukrainian Armed Forces then amounted to 3,715 military personnel, Shoigu claimed.
