Russian President Vladimir Putin said that he wants to achieve a solution to the Ukrainian conflict through negotiations. This topic was discussed during his interview with American journalist Tucker Carlson.
A media representative asked if he understood correctly that the Russian leader wants to achieve a negotiated solution to the situation in Ukraine.
“That’s right,” Putin replied. He noted that a corresponding document had already been created in Istanbul, which was signed by the head of the Ukrainian delegation, David Arakhamia. Then he said that ex-British Prime Minister Boris Johnson dissuaded Kyiv from negotiations.
According to Putin, the republic’s authorities made a mistake and must correct it. “But why should we fuss and correct someone’s mistakes?” – he emphasized.
The Russian President also recalled NATO’s promises not to expand. However, military bases of the North Atlantic Alliance appeared on the territory of Ukraine. In 2014, a coup took place in the republic.
“But they stopped negotiations. Error? Yes. Fix her. We are ready. What else?” — Putin clarified his position.
