Russian President Vladimir Putin congratulated journalist, television and radio host Vladimir Solovyov on his 60th birthday. Congratulatory telegram published on the Kremlin website.
The President noted that Soloviev achieved success in many creative professions, “requiring deep, versatile knowledge, energy and passion.” He also emphasized that the journalist’s programs on radio and television, as well as other meaningful projects and undertakings, “always arouse great, genuine interest.”
Putin wished the TV presenter health and new achievements.
Solovyov was born on October 20, 1963. In 1989 he received a Ph.D. in economics. In 1990-1992 taught economics in the USA. In 1997, he became a presenter at the “Silver Rain” radio station; two years later, together with Alexander Gordon, he began hosting the “Process” program on the ORT television channel and, at the same time, the “Passion According to Solovyov” program on TNT. In 2001-2003 hosted the programs “Breakfast with Solovyov”, “Nightingale Night”, “Duel” and “Look who came!” Since 2003 – talk shows “Orange Juice”, “To the Barrier!”, “Sunday Evening with Vladimir Solovyov” on NTV. In the summer of 2010, Solovyov left Serebryany Dozhd and went to work on the Vesti FM radio and the Rossiya-1 TV channel, where he began hosting the talk show Duel. On April 7, 2022, the Solovyov Live TV channel began broadcasting.
In 2022, the European Union, USA, Canada, Great Britain and other countries introduced personal sanctions against Solovyov.
