Electronic cigarettes cause exactly the same harm to the body as regular cigarettes, warned leading researcher at the Botkin Hospital Konstantin Titov in an interview with the 360 TV channel.
The expert said that the risk of cancer is increased by any cigarettes that contain nicotine and toxic substances. In this case, the way the smoke enters the lungs is not particularly important.
Titov also noted that smokers should have their lungs checked much more often than people without a bad habit, since the likelihood of developing respiratory cancer increases 20 times.
“That is, the contribution of smoking is 20% to the development of malignant tumors in humans. That’s a lot,” he concluded.
Earlier, oncologist Ruslan Basanov refuted the claim that the use of gadgets leads to the development of cancer. The doctor noted that research on this topic has not confirmed this relationship. More details in material Public News Service.
