Politico: Russian Armed Forces dominate the front due to artillery

An Ukrainian Armed Forces officer, who wished to remain anonymous, said that Russian forces dominate the front due to artillery strikes. His words are quoted by the Politico newspaper.

In a conversation with the publication, a Ukrainian officer called on Kyiv to satisfy the “munition hunger” in the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

He emphasized that in some areas Russian forces are many times superior to the Ukrainian Armed Forces in terms of the amount of ammunition. The officer also pointed out that for success on the battlefield it is necessary to at least have an equal number of shells.

As the publication clarifies, his words were confirmed by a Ukrainian artilleryman. In an interview, he explained that due to the lack of ammunition, the troops cannot conduct full-fledged combat operations.

Russian President Vladimir Putin, on February 24, 2022, during his address to the people, announced the start of a military special operation in Ukraine.
